Brendan- I listened to whatever my brother was listening to. I listened to a lot of, mostly what the kids at school were listening to. My favourite band was like Simple Plan. Growing up that was my all time favourite band, and then I hit high school and started listeing to Alexisonfire and a bunch of bands like that. Now I listen to everything. We listened to like rap, pop-rock, heavy ass hardcore on the way here, so really we listen to whatever.
Steven- Ok, so when I was very little, I didn’t really get into any types of bands but, there was one soundtrack that I loved to death. A movie soundtrack, it was the Space Jam soundtrack. I loved that, I would jump up and down on the couch for hours on end. Favourite thing ever.
Jordan- I think it was my 12th birthday when I went to my first concert ever, and I went to see Blink 182 and Greenday. That was in their prime and I think that was pretty awesome. I listened to a lot of Blink growing up, that kind of stuff. All of that good stuff, and everything else. I like rap.
Jordan- As in a process? Oh ok.
Brendan- We kind of jam it out I guess.
Jordan- Typically I’ll write a song on my own or some parts of the song. I’ll have and idea of my own and I’ll write it on an acoustic or piano, etc. Come up with the lyrics and usually we’ll get together and figure out parts for everyone else.
Brendan- Or I come up with a simple guitar idea and he makes it a thousand times better.
Jordan- And that’s how it happens.
Brendan- I never know how.
Steven- Sexual. That’s one word.
Jordan- Big time sexuality. It’s a pop-rock with a little bit of liquid velvet.
Jordan- Everyone has their own story.
Brendan- My dad, he plays guitar and stuff , so when I was younger and my brother. I used to play guitar, and just a bunch of bands I listened to, Simple Plan, like I saw them live when I was in grade 7 and I thought that would be so awesome to do. That’s basically me.
Steven- I didn’t have a lot of, not expirence, my family didn’t listen to a lot of music. Back in public school, that’s when I started listening to a lot of music and I started getting into rap and other stuff like metal, then got down to like the funk and soul stuff, then to pop-rock, and I don’t know. Just being able to show your, like how you feel and incorporate that into your music it just feels so great, I guess. That’s what I have to say.
Jordan- Alright, so I have this friend who actually used to sing in our old band, and we used to hang out. He lived on the river and we used to hang out at his house, and he had an older brother who listened to a lot of late 90’s, early 2000’s, pop-rock music like Saves The Day, The Ghetto Kids, Brandnew, and Starting Line, all that stuff. And I think when I started listening to all that music and hanging out with him that I decided I was going to start playing music. I played the guitar you nkow off and on for a little while and then I started singing. I guess since then, it’s always been what I wanted to do.
Brendan- Why did he start singing in the band?
Jordan- Yeah, that’s a funny story. Like I said, the singer, the guy who I hung out with who lived on the river, which has nothing to do with this story but he was our first singer and it was our first show ever, like our first full band show. We had played on acoustic show. So we showed up at the venue and we were all stoked but, one person decided not to show up, and that was our singer. So we were like, you know were screwed, what are we going to do? I knew all the lyrics, so I got up and sang and I guess that’s how it happened
Brendan (drummer) : We’ve been playing in a band since like, Jordan and I have been playing music together since grade 8 and Steve (bass player) joined up last February. I guess a year ago and we started the band. And that’s how it went down.
Jordan (guitar and singer) : It’s a town on Desperate Housewives.
In 2004, when I saw Hedley in Toronto, they weren’t too famous, so they were doing a show outside and I didn’t think I was going to get anything singed, so I cried because I wanted to meet Jacob (lead singer of Hedley) and then Chris Crippin (drummer of Hedley) saw me and was carrying me around. Then while I was getting a picture with him, Jacob came in the picture and he was drawing on his face with marker. So in the end Chris had a fake beard on him and it was really funny! From Christine
I saw A Day Overdue back in August and I can honestly say it was an incredible gig. The guys are amazing live and provided the audience with incredible energy, which was clearly felt by the audience; and returned. The connection between audience and the band was strongly felt and everyone loved it! Thank you for such an amazing gig guys! From Priy

It was the first time that I saw the band The New Cities in montreal and it was incredible. After the show I talked to each member and we take pictures. We talked with David Brown (singer of The New Cities) This was the first time I saw this band and I was like ’OH’ they are awsome. They have great chemistry with their fans, and great energy!
